Phuket Night Market & Town
Dates: 13-22 Feb
I arrived in Phuket from Koh Lanta and had quite a few days in Phuket Town, it’s very quiet and not much going on but it’s a nice enough place to stay if you have the time to burn. Most of the activity is on the weekends at the night market near Wat Nakaram, and on Thalang Road on Sundays.
I walked up to Khao Toh-Sae viewpoint one of the days which was ok, nice enough view but not much of an angle to look around, I wouldn’t walk it again – it was pretty intense in the heat. There are a lot of monkeys on the way which I saw ransacking a truck on the way back down that was full of bananas, pineapples & coconuts.
Phuket night market is great, I’d definitely recommend a trip down. Loads of stalls selling a mixture of clothes, gadgets, trinkets & more. There’s also a huge food area at the back with some great food to be had for pretty cheap. It’s easy to get there, any of the hundreds of motorbike taxis dotted around will take you for around 50-100baht, or a car taxi will also take you, I was solo here so not sure how much a car will cost though it’s unlikely to be much more.
